Sometimes people think they shouldn't need help putting food on the table, but sometimes it's hard to make ends meet. If you don't know how or if you can pay for your next meal or next week's groceries, NJ SNAP can help.



NJ SNAP, formerly Food Stamps, is the New Jersey Supplemental Nutritional Assistance Program that can help low-income families buy the groceries they need to eat healthily.

Online applications can reduce the amount of time you spend in the office for an interview (of illness or disability If the person is unable to go to the county social services board because of this, send an authorized representative to represent him or her (You can either do this or request a phone interview).


You can also send your application by fax or mail to your local county welfare office.


Once you have received the application, you will be contacted to schedule an interview to confirm the application information.
