Food Assistance ProgramThe U.S. Department of Agriculture provides temporary food assistance to eligible low-income families and individuals.



Eligibility is based on the financial situation of all members of a household.


All those who live together, buy and prepare food together are considered members of the same group of households.


In general, we will review your expenses, assets and revenues to determine what benefits you may be eligible for. The application process You must complete and submit an application to determine if you are able to get food, Medicaid, childcare, temporary cash, emergency assistance etc. through MDHHS.

Customers receive a Michigan Bridge Card to purchase certain food products and access cash benefits at various retailers and ATMs across the state.
