Food Aid Program The Department of Agriculture provides timely food aid to eligible families and low-income individuals.

Eligibility depends on the financial status of all members of the household.
All persons who live together and buy and prepare food together are considered to be part of the same household group.
In general, they will review your expenses, assets and revenues to determine what benefits you may be eligible for. The application process You must complete and submit an application to determine if you are able to get food, Medicaid, childcare, temporary cash, emergency assistance etc. through MDHHS.
When you apply, you may have to provide information about all members of your household.
The best way to determine whether you qualify and sign up is online with MI Bridges. Applications can be delivered, emailed or faxed by hand to their local office.
Customers are issued a Michigan bridge card to purchase certain food products and access cash benefits at various merchants and ATMs throughout the state.
