Food Assistance ProgramThe U.S. Department of Agriculture provides temporary food assistance to eligible low-income families and individuals.
Eligibility is based on the financial status of all members of the family. Everyone who lives together, buys and prepares food together is considered a member of the same household group. In general, we'll look at expenses, activities, and revenue to determine which, if any, benefits you might be eligible for. Application process You must fill in and submit an application to determine if you are able to receive assistance with assistance such as food, Medicaid, child care, temporary money, an emergency, etc., through MDHHS. When you apply, you may have to provide information about all members of your household.

The best way to determine eligibility and apply is online with MI Bridges. Applications can be sent by hand to our office, sent by post or faxed.

Customers are given the Michigan Bridge Card to purchase certain foods and access cash benefits at a number of retail stores and ATMs throughout the state.
