Sometimes people feel that they shouldn't need help to put food on the table, but sometimes it's a struggle to make ends meet.  If you're not sure how or whether you can pay for your next meal or next week's groceries, NJ SNAP can help.
NJ SNAP, formerly Food Stamps, is a complementary nutrition aid scheme in New Jersey that can help low-income families buy the food they need for healthy eating.

You can also fax or mail your application to your local County Welfare Office.
After receiving your request, they will contact you to arrange an interview to confirm your request.
Please note that households in which all members are Supplemental Security Income (SSI) applicants or recipients may apply for NJ SNAP at the Social Security Administration at the same time they apply for SSI.

NJ SNAP Benefits are issued via the user-friendly electronic benefit card "Families First".
